Scratch DJ Academy was founded in 2002 by Jam Master Jay (Legendary DJ of Run DMC), Reg E. Gaines (author, Bring In Da Noise, Bring In Da Funk, and two time Grammy and Tony Award nominee), and Rob Principe (current CEO). At its headquarters in New York and locations in Los Angeles and Miami, Scratch teaches students the popular and musical art form of the DJ and producer. Scratch DJ Academy’s goal is to lower the barrier to entry for those interested in DJ’ing and music production. Combining copy written curriculum, hands on training, and celebrity DJ instructors, Scratch DJ Academy has taught thousands of students of all ages and backgrounds from locations all over the USA and world how to DJ and produce.
